Move a disconnected mailbox out of "Recovery Storage Group"
I attempted to move a mailbox from one AD account to another by "Disabling" it through EMC and then connecting it to the new account. The problem is that when I disabled the mailbox Exchange moved it to the Recovery Storage Group. Because of that I can't reconnect the mailbox to either account. How do I get this mailbox out of the Recovery Storage Group so that I can complete the move?TIA

What version and SP of Exchange? If this is E2K3, you should be able to delete the mailbox from the original user, go to the Mailbox Database where the mailbox lives, right click on Mailboxes and choose Cleanup. Then, locate the mailbox (it will have a red and white 'x" over it, right click and choose Reconnect. The Recovery Storage Group should have nothing to do with this unless you haveaRSG databasemounted (which you don't need on a normal basis.

Clarify: After disabled mailbox in EMC, disconnected mailbox didnt appear in Disconnected Mailbox, instead, it went into RSG. You want to move this mailbox to another users mailbox in live DB. Please correct freely if theres any misunderstanding If you ensured that disconnected mailbox was located in RSG. Please follow the instructions in Example 1 Section of article below to restore it back to the user you want Using RSG in Exchange 2007 http://www.petri.co.il/using_rsg_in_exchange_2007.htm Notes: remember to dismount RSG after you finished restore task
